Well Chris had to work on Saturday, so I spent yet another lazy day at home with the boy. He has been a little upset and screaming for a couple of hours on Friday and Saturday. Nothing I can’t handle though and he’s usually pretty good so a couple of hours here and there doesn’t bother me too much. I have been trying not to comfort feed him unless its absolutely necessary, and I know he’s not hungry. It’s usually a bit of wind, so just have to wait for it to pass. This boy is sure teaching me some patience and tolerance. I don’t get as upset now with him crying, unless I am really exhausted myself.
I had a bit of a romantic evening planned for when Chris got home finally at 8.30pm. Prepared a cheese and nibblies platter, red wine, candles throughout the house and on the outdoor table, dinner bubbling away on the stove. Was great to sit down and relax and have some ‘us’ time and talk about things other than the baby.
Sunday we went for a drive into Airlie, went through the new McDonald’s drive through on it’s opening day. They sure make a good iced coffee. I swear I am addicted to coffee now that I’m a Mum. Can almost justify buying a cappuccino maker. Had a little drive around to look at the water, stopped in at a friends, went to the butcher then back home. Fed John and put him down for a nap at Midday and decided to have a power nap ourselves. We thought he would only be about 30mins, but I woke at 3.30pm and still no John. He must have been really tired, my goodness this boy loves his sleep. We had lamb skewers and chicken de’lites as an afternoon snack then I mowed the lawn and gave all my plants their spring haircut.
Got to use our pram clears to keep the rain off for the first time this morning. I don’t think John is too fond of rain, as he squished his face up when we first walked out the door and a few got on him. It was only spitting so decided to go walking anyway since John was covered. Was a nice walk, can really smell spring in the air now with all the different fragrances of the flowers, and lots of bird about chirping away. John slept pretty much the whole time, even with our off-road pramming, through soggy long grass and puddles and over bumps and gravel. Sorry pram.
Just got a knock on the door and it was the lady from Infant Imprints. So now can show you my lovely keepsake I got for Johnny.
I am so happy with it, it looks so beautiful. Can’t believe how much his hands and feet have grown since I got these done at one month old.
